Solved can't force power off my computer

Specs: N/A
My lap top has crashed during shut down. The screen displays "windows is shutting down" and holding the power button has no effect. Help!!!!

Holding the button should power it off.
Some PC's have an on/off button on the back of the PC depending on your PSU. If you have one you could use that to shut the power.
Or just flick the power switch.

Although you can damage the PC's operating system that way causing it to not boot, or have corrupt files. I've shut the power off mid shutdown before quite a few times though and it booted normal.

I agree with response #2....KEEP pushing in the power button UNTILL it shuts off safely....have patience...

Four seconds is normally all it takes. But then there is always the option of throwing the main power switch at the fuze box. That will shut anything down.
