What file?
Where is it stored?
Already rebooted the system and tried to delete the file?

I do psp work and downloaded some backgrounds. Before downloading, on a whim, I deleted the thumb.db. I used and stored the background, and unable to delete the file now. One is stored in my recycle bin and another is stored in my pictures file. I tried to redownload the pictures again and reclaim that thumb.db file, cut it wasn't there this time. There was another _MACOSX file. Neither one or can be deleted. For the file holder and the one in the recycle bin the sign reads "cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name."
I have rebooted and rebooted to delete. I have went into safe mode. This has been going on for days now, and I am still looking for answers to delete it.
If you could help, I'd appreciate it. Thank you for responding.

You can boot the computer by using a live cd and delete the files.
That's what I would suggest.

"about not having a pathway"

This kind of error indicates the file is already deleted but the cache has not been updated. If this a file in the downloads window of a browser? If so you may have your privacy options turned on to delete files automatically when closing the browser. It still has the file list cached so all you need to do is Clear List. If it is not a browser then simply reboot the computer and see if the file is still there.

MsMuse, If all else fails give FileAssassin a try. It's free at the link below.

Sorry, I have tried everyone of your help ideas,
but nothing works. The assassin file didn't work either. I tried the live CD. The things are still there.
I have just settled down now and told myself that it will go away one day. I even had a computer guy come in, but he forgot the details of fixing my computer. So....
it's still there and THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for your help.
It doesn't bother me too much now.
Thanks

What exactly happened when you tried to delete the file using the live CD? It usually works.

There is also another program called "Move on Boot".

What's the time?

It said cannot read path. That is exactly what it is saying when trying to delete. Evidently, I have to make some sort of pathway. I can read the folder that it is in, but not the folder than contained pictures, which were deleted.
I really don't know what is going on. It is so frustrating. oh well. Thanks.
I guess I will eventually figure something out.
thanks

Resonder 4:
I have cleaned the cache out and still can't delete.
Today, I found the site, where I got the images and I'm trying now to get in touch with the owner. Maybe she can tell me what program (s) she is using.

Thanks, will certainly keep you updated, even though I get slow.
Thanks
