Posting your email address in the open can result in you getting lots of spam mail. We do not provide private help anyway, as this is a public forum.

Find the folder cited above and right click on it. Choose properties and see if read only is checked.

The temp folder path shown has been reducted to 8 character format.

This is what it will look like in Windows:
C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Temp

You will probably have to set "Show hidden files and folders" from Control Panel.

We need to know if the Temp folder is set to read-only, as given in #1.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I googled "you cannot change the contents of that folder" and got quite a few hits. There was some discussion that some application had locked the folder. Here's another one but might just work for Vista:

It is quite possible that it has been locked by a virus. On another computer download this but "Save" the downloaded file somewhere instead of running it:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...

Transfer the downloaded file to a flash drive then pop it in the faulty comuter and double click the file to install the MalwareBytes. If this works then Run the program and let it delete all it finds.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If MalwareBytes won't run as given then let us know. Viruses often try to trick that program into not running but we have some tricks up our sleeves too.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
