Cannot delete file on desktop.

Dell Inspiron 1545
July 8, 2010 at 09:08:09
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional sp3, 1.995 GHz / 3032 MB
Downloaded you tube video with you tube down loader. The video is in .flv format. I was not able to convert it over to windows media. I want to delete it off my desktop. I right click it and select delete and I get a message
Error Deleting File or Folder.
Cannot delete file: Cannot read the source file or disk.
I have tried cut and paste I have tried deleting from safe mode. Still will not delete. Maybe try Linux live CD?

Just because the OP does not come back in 3 or 4 days to reply, does not mean he will not come back and reply.

Normally the 'cannot read source file' is because the file has
already been deleted and usually just a screen refresh will solve
the problem. A live CD will certainly let you check & see if it is
definitely there. You should also be able to logon as
administrator in safe mode and check/delete it.

The file has been there over a week with several refresh's and several reboots. Like I said I tried booting to safe mode and deleting it no luck.
