Cannot connect to own wireless network

November 28, 2009 at 17:16:05
Specs: Windows Vista

I have a hp nc8230 laptop that is not able to detect my wireless network, but able to detect the neighbor's network.

Initially it was able to connect without a problems, however, now it does not even detect it. The wireless router is working fine, as the other computers in the house is able to detect it and connect to it.

Any suggestions anyone?

Have you opened the wireless network connection and then selected properties and then wireless networks to check what the status of the preferred network is?

thanks capt for the reply. I checked the preferred network under properties, and it said that the preferred network was my network.

Try deleting it and then set iy up again.

Try deleting it as the preferred network and restart the computer. Then try to set the network up. Also check the firewall settings.
