I seem to have picked up a virus or something.
I can access FTP sites, email, RDP and IRC
but I cannot browse or transfer data over port
80 (normal internet traffic). I have run anti-virus
software, anti-spyware. I have removed the NIC
driver, reinstalled it added another NIC.
Removed the router and installed a new one. I
have run winsock repair, combofix, I am at my
wits end.Thank you,

Just a silly question, did you go into your firewall and make sure you are not blocking port 80?

The firewall is disabled and the modem/router have been
checked.Thank you,

Can you telnet port 80? Why do you say port 80 is blocked? Look at IE settings or try maybe portable firefox to see if it is IE.

I was about to say the same thing but rather than telnet I was a port scan like NMAP or what ever. As for waht the issue is, if there is no firewall blocking you then the problem has to be in you I.E. Configuration. Make sure it is setup not to use a proxy unless of cource you do have aproxy server then I would do a ping from your proxy to see if you are getting through.
On last silly question. Have you tried a trace route to see where the packets are getting dropped. If it is in a NAT LAN then it will be of little help but it would at least tell you if ICMP is getting out to the internet or not. Try this from the command prompt and post the results...
tracert yahoo.com
If you have a static public IP do not forget to redact it.
I could ping but I could not browse via other browsers. I ended up
reinstallingThank you,
