Can I replace i386 file

Specs: Windows XP, 2.53ghz /2gig
I have a crashed xp home and xppro loaded on my hard drive. The home is a ome install so no disks or pass words ran a password cracker on it and it could not find anything.Anyways can I replace the i386 folder in thehome version wth a copy of the i386 folder from the pro.
I have to get the home virtion running again.

I think, you cannot.
If the OEM was preinstalled, there should be a system restore partition on the hard drive, which mostly can be access by pressing ALT+F10.

CAUTION: By restoring the system, you will loose all your data.

Therefore, you should use either a Linux Live CD like Knoppix or BartsPE, to backup you data in the first place.

To be blunt....stop dicking around and borrow an xp home cd. Not that anyone will like this but you can google , download and burn the disk.

You are allowed a backup copy.....Yes?

I will do that. I had no Idea that it was a possibility!
Every thing on this thing was pade for with hard eared cash! Any idea of a safe place to get it from?
