can I reinstall these files

Microsoft Windows xp home edition sp3 -...

Specs: Windows XP pro
my elec. went out during a storm and when I turned my comp. back on It wont load windows and I get this mess. Put in original CD and press the r and it may work. Here's the missing or courrpt file
\windows\system32\config\system
I'm a comp. beginner and need some good easy to understand help . THANK YOU VERY MUCH

All of these are related.
Primary root cause of the errors is the registry is corrupt which is located @

\windows\system32\config

and the registry is in MULTIPLE files

1. DEFAULT
2. SAM
3. SECURITY
4. SOFTWARE
5. SYSTEM

Never mind the other post is probably right because the SYSTEM.DAT is part of the registry.
