Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit), Intel core i3-8MB DDR-sdram
Hi Guys,
I do hope you can give me a bit of advice, before I click on this install. I have win 7 installed on my pc on my primary. I have pasted the full amount of windows xp files onto an external HD.

If, I click install in the Win XP on the external HD, will it cause malfunction on my primary drive, especially in relation to the mbr.

Look forward to your advice.

All the best.

there is every chance of damaging your mbr if you do so. I would really recommend you to install XP on a virtual PC on the primary drive, and then use it on your PC. the safest, ever. I myself use it like that. Bit if you still wanna play with hard disk stuff, I recommend you to install the Xp in your secondary hard drive from a cd, ONLY if your BIOS supports booting from an external hard disk. No matter what, for the hard disk thing, always keep in hand a boot recovery CD which specializes on flagging and partitioning recovery stuff. Good Luck!

Thank you Jaysarma, for your most helpful advice. I am not too aware just how to create a virtual pc, but I will give it some thought.

Thank you again.
