"c:\" drive icon problems

Specs: xp home, 3ghz / 512
when I double click on the c:\ drive icon in "my computer" I get the following error message.
"Windows cannot find'resycled\ntldr.com'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To Search for a file, click the start button, and then click search" this message has one "OK" button.

Funny thing is, I wasnt that bothered with this prob as , if i clicked on the c:\ drive icon, in the left pane of windows explorer it shows me the contents of the c:\ drive in the right pane as normal !!

The reason I am now askin for help on this problem is that I was trying to do my weekly defrag, and i got an error message saying "disk defragmenter cannot start". I am pretty sure that both these problems are related as they both started happening about the same time.

any help would be appreciated

thanx in advance

ps: dont know if this is relevant but I use ccleaner to empty the trash , and usaually just go with the default settings.

any help would be appreciated
thanx in advance

This is a virus problem. Check out the Security/Virus Forum. There are LOTS of posts with this same issue.
