Download CCleaner Lite (it's free) and run that for a start. Clear ot unused games and programmes ans spring clean your pictures folder. Do a System Cleanup (Help and Support on your PC will tell you how). A bit of common sense will pay dividends here.

Look in Control Panel Add-Remove and see if there any programs that you never use. It is safe to Uninstall them from there. Don't be tempted to just pick off files (unless they are yours) because that almost always results in disaster.

You could reduce your restore points by using the percentage slider. It all depends on how many you have (which depends on your disk size). If you have over a months worth then I doubt they are worth keeping. In this case slide it back step at a time.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

It would help to know the size of the hard drive. If it's almost full, it's probably because you've installed or downloaded way too much crap & don't regularly clean up after yourself. The 1st thing you should do is install & run CCleaner-Slim. Remove everything it finds.
