booting safemode

Specs: Windows XP
my laptop wont boot .it apologizes for the inconvenience but windows wont start due to recent hardware or software change, i dont know what has happend, i tried the f8 but it wont let me switch to safe mode it only lets me start normal and then a blue screen flashes on, too fast for me to even read it and then it reboots all over again, any ideas on how to fix this

keep tapping f8 on bootup and then uncheck automatically restart after failure and please post the error that arises the next time it blue screens,

Tapping the Pause or Scroll lock keys should freeze the screen. Hit any key to resume.

ok i was able to click on safe mode and a screen comes up with a bunch of files and this is what it runs to= multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0) partition(1)\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\\BMLOAD.sys after that it just freezes and wont do anythin

Especially if you recently updated any drivers, did any updates, or installed anything,I would suggest two things:
First, while in safe mode, do a system restore to a date before you had any problems.
Second, also in safe mode, scan with antivirus program and also with Malwarebytes, just to make sure this wasn't caused by an infection.
Then try a straight start.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
