Blue screen, cannot boot xp - memory 'error'

May 18, 2011 at 18:41:24
Specs: Windows XP
Hello there,

For the second time in about two months, my desktop computer (which is admittedly about 6 years old) has randomly blue screen of deathed, and then when I attempt to reboot it up, it gives the 'Windows NT has found only 128k of low memory. 512k of low memory is required to run Windows NT. You may need to upgrade your computer'....error. The last time this happened, I had to go home for 3 weeks soon after, so I turned everything off and when I came back it worked perfectly... I'm really confused, mainly on how to get it back to at least safe mode, as nothing I can do seems to get me even there. Any help is appericated.

Thanks - Sorter.

Had you posted the bsod Stop code we might have been able to better assist you. Suggest your run a ram diagnostics program such as Memtest (Google for it) followed by your hdd manufacturer's disk diagnostic program.

Good luck.

Please come back & tell us if your problem is resolved.
