Greetings everyone! Last night while playing Spider Solitaire, my home computer staring beeping. It was one constant beeping that lasted for about 11/2 minutes. I closed down the game, and was about to shut down when I decided to check my email on Outlook Express. After double-clicking the icon, IE 8 came up. I close out IE and tried again and got the same result. Then I noticed that most of the icons on my desktop were blinking, not on and off, but like a florescent light that was about to die. I decided to shut down the computer, but every time I clicked on the START button, Netscape tried to come on. After several attempts I had around 6 Netscapes trying start. I finally used the keyboard key to access the 'turn off computer' icon and was able to shut down. I am posting this message from my office computer. I have checked the archives for both 'beeping computer' and 'blinking icons', but have not found the exact symptoms I have. I do have a suspicion that it might be the power source. I would greatly appreciate any other suggestions on possible causes and solutions. My anti-virus is up to date, I have Norton Internet Security, and I do have my firewall working. Thanks in advances for your aid.

May seem a little strange, but try another mouse.

It is bad luck to be superstitious.
