The default file association to .bat file might have changed from Open to Edit or to something else.

Just right-click on the .bat file and select Open.

If you want, you can restore the default action of .bat files to Open by making changes to File Types in Control Panel / Folder Options.

What happens if you run the batch file from a command prompt?

"So won’t you give this man his wings
What a shame
To have to beg you to see
We’re not all the same
What a shame" - Shinedown

hmm either convert it to an .exe file using a batch to exe converter

or maybe a program like dosbox although its mainly made for dos game emulation.
