|I think emachines has a special way to do what you did. The file system might have been put into a folder under C called something like backup or such. It is a copy of your old system.|
I would not trust any of it if you have had a lot of virus issues.
The restore should have put all the OEM software back on. It would be up to you to re-install all of the software.
Now if you only did a XP repair then the data would be on the drive where it was and you still have to reload the programs.
I also may not fully understand exactly how you "restored" it.
