THE SYSTEM STARTED WITH SOME FAULTS AT THE FIRST TIME AND SOME TIME LATER IT HAD SHUT DOWN AUTOMATICALLY (AND IT KEEPS DOING IT ) .. HOW CAN I DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHETHER ITS THE FAULT OF THE NEW POWER SUPPLY OR IS IT SOME HARDWARE THATS CAUSING THE PROBLEM...... HOW CAN I ISOLATE THE FAULTY HARDWARE .... Hi hiteshlalwani2008,

Please ensure that the CPU fan is connected properly and all the fans of the cabinet are working.

Using a good known power supply will isolate if it is an issue with the power supply or some other component.

For dell desktops you can perform hardware diagnostics using the link mentioned below:

Please refer to the link mentioned below for information on error codes:

Dell PC Diagnostics can be used to perform diagnostics inside operating system environment. Click the link mentioned below:

Thanks & Regards

How did you clean the fan? Why did you replace the Power Supply?

Did you physcially remove the heatsink/fan to clean it? If you did, did you completely remove the old thermal material & replace it with fresh paste (& do it correctly)?

Why did you replace the power supply? What is the make/model/wattage of both the old one & the new one. If you installed a cheapie, it may be no better or could be even worse than the one it replaced. You should NEVER choose a replacement based on wattage alone. There are numerous other specs that are more important - efficiency rating, active or passive PFC, +12v rail amperage, proper connectors (SATA, PCIe, 24-pin, 4-pin or 8-pin ATX12v), warranty, & of course, a reputable brand name.
