When attempting to execute an application from a windows icon it brings up the cmd widows for a split second and shuts it down w.o. executing. I can execute if I first cmd cd to directory and xxx.exe. Why?
Hi jacques_h, This sounds fishy. Sometimes people will create a script and make it look like an actual program or file when in reality it's a malicious script. Sometimes this is done in humor to annoy the user.
If you right-click on the icon you're referring to, and go to Properties, what does it say about the file? (File type, Opens With, is there an Edit option?)
