Antivirus installation fails

November 27, 2009 at 06:39:42
Specs: Windows XP
Spybot report that I have 2 win32 trojans on my pc. Every antivirus I try to install fails the installation. I tried Avast, SuperAntiSpyware and they both fail to install. I ran CCleaner and cleaned the registry. I then downloaded Google Pack and now Spyware Doctor with Norton Antivirus are not installing.

Ideally you need to run something that runs outside of Windows. If you know anyone with Kaspersky you can ask them to create a rescue disk for you - that can be used to boot your PC & do a scan/removal from that. Alternatively you could try an on-line scanner - I think Kaspersky is being updated at the moment but there are others - just do a Google for 'on-line scanner'.

Also try installing in safe-mode (though that may or may not work)...
