An unhandled win32 exception

Microsoft Microsoft windows xp home edit...

Specs: Windows XP

Im getting the following error whenever i load explorer by clicking a folder.

"An unhandled win32 exception occured in explorer.exe [5560] <- numbers change for every error message i get. "

I also get a list of possible debuggers which only includes Visual studio Just in time debugger "New instance of visual Studio 2008"

Story :

It goes like this:

I have Visual studio 2008 installed on my system but i was getting the error before i installed VB. The error however was different as it was looking for just in time debugger without finding it. Now when i installed VB it comes up with the new instance and the Just in time debugger.

At first when i uninstalled Visual studio 2008 it seemed that the problem had gone.

However i really need Visual Studio so i installed it again and i am getting the same error again.

I also tried looking through the registry for a wrong value in Winlogon/shell but everything seems to be fine.

What i did for the moment i renamed vsjitdebugger.exe in Windows/System32 file just to be able to work until i find a solution. Iknow that this just hides the problem but i cant seem to find anything on the issue.

Btw i have all sorts of Microsoft.NET framework installed which im not sure that have anything to do with the issue.

Any help, suggestions, pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Well, if you do not need all the of the different versions of Microsoft.NET framework, I suggest you uninstall all of them and then only re-install the latest version. It is a good idea to not have multiple versions of the same software as they may conflict with each other.
