Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 3.067 GHz / 502 MB
ok my system crash from a virus , it went to blue screen then restart . i tried to restore it but it wont work , i then went to the black screen put it in safe mode as i was told that still didnt work telling me i do not have any restore point n i cant create one either . to top it off my cd section on my pc that is broken so i can do anything with that . when i try and open a program like maintenance and performance it tells me this d;\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe application not found .

so is there a way to clean my pc up from the black screen when it is starting up ? i just press F5 to open it up .

Mr Salmon, I'm a little confused. Can you get into safe mode? Did you simply try to restore from there? Can you instead run a virus scan from there? CAUTION! Often a nasty hides in 'restore' and gets put back next time. I'd try the scan alone first to make sure it'd work. Then, if all seemed well, I'd disable restore and rescan. Possible you're fighting a worm/trojan? They're similar, but not the same.
