Specs: Windows XP Pro , intel 2G
How do I remove cmmgr32.gid? After auto install, none of my programs will open. Error: "The procedure entry point MSWSOC.Migrate Winsock Configuration could not be located in dynamic link library WSOCK32.dll." I found the 'cmmgr32.gid' installed the same time the problem began. I ran full scan in Mcafee and the problem was not found. Cannot open System Restore, or any program from Start... Used Run to open Internet Explorer. Operating System Windows xp Pro

Gid files are of no consequence and not the reason for your problem. They are a fall back to the old days where they were needed so that Help features opened more quickly. You can delete the file if you so wish - it will be reinstated next time you use Help.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
