Specs: Windows XP
I currently show Adobe Reader 8.2.2 installed via the Windows "add or remove program feature. however, when i attenpt to remove this program i receive a message stating: "This package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package". I have also attempted to "reinstall" this version but receive the same exact error mesage as shown above. Any assistance or help on how to remove this version? Thanks

Try installing the new version here. Should copy over the older version.

Newer version would not install as well. However, I was just able to apply a "FIX" for this problem via the Microsoft Fix IT Center that I found and it allowed me to remove this file via the add or remove panel. Thanks for your assistance

This does not answer your query but it does offer a smaller more efficient alternative. Try "Foxit Reader"... it is available here: and it's free. It is not bloated as is Adobe and it does not continually try to endlessly update itself. You will be pleasantly surprised.
