AcroRd32.exe fatal error

March 31, 2011 at 19:18:27
Specs: Windows XP, 1GB DDR
On 24th March I downloaded the latest OOC update from Acrobat and installed it as always. Since then Acrobat Reader and any PDF files are not opening. Instead a Fatal Error is shown saying it cannon connect to DDE Server. Even the programme does not end unless I click End Now while shutting down my computer.

Adobe Reader is plagued with bugs and constantly being attacked by malware which is why it regularly needs to be updated. I suggest you completely remove Adobe Reader and install the free Foxit Reader:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/re...

Another plus: Unlike Adobe, it doesn't try to install additional stuff (aka. bloatware) on your computer like McAfee Security Center.

Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.

Thanks for your kind reply. As suggested by you, i would try Foxit. Will it open all PDF documents saved on Adobe Programme like Photoshop or through my HP Scanner and from the Net.

I'm sure it will. I haven't had any problems opening PDF files with it. Let me know how you like it.
