Specs: Windows 7
hi

I have an Acer Aspire 6935 Laptop and I am wanting to do a full factory restore.
My problem is the laptop came with Windows Vista installed but I recently installed windows 7 so now my ALT F10 wont work and the erecovery is no longer installed. I have downloaded it from the Acer website and installed it but when it says please restart to continue the factory restore it just restarts windows as normal.

I used ParTEDIT32 to view the PQservice partition and its still there and as far as I know its in tacted.

I also tried creating recovery discs using the erecovery program and it created 2 DVDs but when I use them they dont work, an error apearers. It loads up the windows files needed, asks me my language etc, but when its about to start installed the files the error apearers.
Now im cant remember what error it is and i dont want to re try a third time to find out as if I do then my pc wont boot up. It says missing bootmgr and Im forced to re-install Windows 7.

Ive tried running CMD and and accessing the x drive (pqservice) and typed mbrwrwin.exe install rtmbr.bin but it says its not recongised.

please help.

Many Thanks

... you might have to copy the files to your c: drive first then type:

mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin [press enter] (should re-enable mbr <Alt> <F10> function)

... you should be able to get them from here scroll to bottom of page wait 40 sec's click download.

... you also might be able to evoke the recovery from partition folder D2D
(where ever the file is?) typing d2d32.exe [press enter] (untested) ... (d2d64.exe)

................................................... more here

... plz let us know if anything works (I do'nt have an Acer in front of me to try!)
