Acer 5630 hibernation -wont wake!

February 27, 2010 at 04:09:30
Specs: WIn Xp
ACER ASPIRE 5630. Went into hibernation when battery went flat. Now wont boot. Just powers up

for one second and then shuts down again. Battery charger connected. Yellow Power LED flashes

on off very slowly, but battery does not appear to charge!
Is it locked up in BIOS and would this prevent charging?
Its so annoying as Laptop is mission crucial! :-(
Many thanks in advance.

There is no BIOS setting that may prevent battery from charging.
Maybe the battery is out of order.
You may try to start your notebook without the battery, but power supply connected.

... "vickie194" if it went into hibernation because the power started to go down and its still not charging it could be a cracked solder joint @ laptop socket inlet jack click here

... or you maybe lucky and it has charged but the hibernation bungled, its happened to me in the past, resolved by using a bootup (win98) floppy/CD and typing: FDISK /MBR [press enter]

edit/... unplug the mains and remove the battery then reinsert the battery

... (if it "will" bootup from the CD then its a bungled hibernation)

... this "iso" bootup image will do that for you once you've created a CD from it, @ webpage scroll down to bottom wait 40 sec's then click> download I've just tested it on a XP system with no problems

... this (freeware) will burn the "iso" image
Mirror 8 - Provided by ImgBurn make sure the bios is set to cdrom "first" in boot sequence on exit

I had two cases which sound just like yours happen recently, also with Acer Aspire, 5570Z in my case. The first one is solved here,

and the second one is here:

Which one looks more like your situation?

There are two solutions presented also, take a close look.
