Accidently merged two folders. Want to undo

April 22, 2011 at 14:53:00
Specs: Windows XP
Using Windows XP
I managed, in trying to move a file folder, to merge into into another one. How do I get it back out? When I click it to drag it I don't have anywhere to move it, since it's in a folder already. I need to get it out and onto the desktop.

Reduce the display screen using the button in top right corner immediately to left of the red X . If the image still covers most/all of the desktop you can re-size by hovering mouse over a corner until you see diagonal double-ended arrow icon. then left-click and drag image smaller.

Once you have the image small enough you can then drag your desired item out of the folder to the desktop.

I often have two reduced size explorer windows open to make easy use of drag-n-drop.
