a strange folder virus

Specs: Windows XP
hi,i recently got a strange folder virus (its not the -new folder- virus because its somehow different looking i will publish links of some pics of my folders and how it looks) the virus only appears on external drives and on my D drive ( i have only C and D the windows is on the C though no signs of the virus there only the D and externam drives like my phone's memory card and USB drive) the folder on which i see the virus (for example : Movie) a strange folder like icon appears and is called like the parent folder (Movie) but its an .exe file,in addition to that there is always another icon which is something like a publicity for a hack or keygen or the like ( for example : Office 2003 CD key ; Winrar serial install...ect) any ideas on how to deal with this virus? i tried malwarebytes and i can't afford to get an anti-virus with serial key at the moment.

Are you saying you're running with no AV protection? Why? You do NOT have to pay for AV.

Try AVG free, AVAST, or Microsoft Security Essentials, all of them are free:

Are you running a pirated copy of WinXP?

It is unusual to have a folder named "Office 2003 CD-Key.doc" and one named "Make Windows Original' if the applications were indeed legitimate... just a thought!

Your pics would be even more helpful if they were set to View "Details", and Folder Options set to show extensions and Hidden and System Files. Oh, and please do respond to OtheHill's question[s].
