Screen savers are resource hogs. The more complex it is, the greater the performance hit. If you must use one, use a lightweight one, not one that uses 3D.

Assuming you meant renaming the file itself (not a shortcut to it), I am surprised that your fix worked. For a shortcut it makes sense - putting quotes around the target (leaving the spaces there) would also have done the trick.

Whatever, thx for the heads up - something for those who like screen savers to bear in mind.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi,
The quotes were not put put in the original file name when downloaded .
I only used them for explanation .Good to know using quotes has the the same result.
I looked on Microsoft for a fix and they blamed 3 party software saying to delete them!!

Sometimes the simple fixes work .

Hi,
The file itself was changed .I did not realise that using quotes had the same result.
I only used the quotes for explanation the original file had no quotes when downloaded.
I looked for a fix on Microsoft all they could say was a conflict with 3rd party software and suggested deleting them.

Sometimes the simplest fix works.!!

The quotes only apply to the target of a "shortcut" to a file (when the file name is longer than 8 characters). If you are working direct to the file itself then it's a mystery to me as to why it worked. Interesting just the same.
