Solved windows vista update service not starting

Microsoft Windows 7 home premium oem 64b...

Specs: Windows Vista, Intel P7350 2ghz
windows vista update not starting.
This causes the Windows Security to not update too.

If you can't get either to update from their applications or from the microsoft web pages then you need to reload OS. It may be that you could find event log entries that tell why or what is wrong. It could be that you have some virus or malware or simple data issue.

I guess you could try a "repair" but booting to the vista dvd and use it's repair.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

From here you just click on the fix it button, reboot and all is well.
It took me ages to find it though.
