Windows Vista on emachines shuts down while booting up.

Specs: Windows Vista, AMD Athalon 3800+, 2.4 GHZ
Running the Windows Vista on an emachines bare bones machine. While booting up it shuts down when the Microsoft bar is moving along. If I keep trying (2-4 times) it will get beyond that point and show that it has been incorrectly shut down. If I choose "have windows repair the problem" it shuts down. If I choose "Start Windows up normally" it runs just fine. It will run all day normally. Occasionally I will come back and find it shut down but, it usually stays working until I am done.

Right now we can't say if it is hardware or software.

Run memtest on it for a day or so and see if it is stable.

Might have to test hardware more or swap hardware.

Guess you could at least look at event logs for more clues.

Hang up and live.

I ran combo fix and it still does it. Seems to be hardware since once it is running it runs fine for as long as I leave it on. It is like it needs to warm up. After restarting it 3-4 times it runs like always with no problems. I am thinking about just leaving it running? It seems to sleep well.
