We may eventually have to go down the uninstall path.

Lets try other ways first, allow 2 hrs.

Run Windows Repair in Safe mode as per my screenshot.

Disable your antivirus program before running Windows Repair.

Start at Step 1 ( very important ) do all the steps until you get to the final step ( Repairs ) Reboot when finished.
Right click on the exe & click on > Run as administrator.

"Its not in compact view"
Don't think it has anything to do with Compact View, resize just the same as you would in Office, word or just about any program.

Perfect SS gep.
My head was thinking that L/H column was hidden, but it is not.
Got to have a big rethink about this, might take a while.

Hello JohnW, as well as the greyed out send and receive, the inbox, sent missing, now her Contacts, not the contact button, but all her contacts within contacts, gone.

Don't know what she has done, mine is fine.

Thanks, gep

Windows Live Mail was discontinued by Microsoft in 2012. In Windows 10, the replacement is simply called "Mail". I presume you're using Live Mail to access 3rd party email such as AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc? Did you try the web-based versions of your email program to make sure there are no problems?

"Microsoft announced that Outlook.com was discontinuing support for Windows Live Mail during 2016 by dropping support for the DeltaSync protocol. Microsoft has positioned the Mail app (bundled with Windows 10, available in Windows Store) as a replacement for it. Although DeltaSync has been discontinued as of 30 June 2016, Microsoft's Windows Live Mail 2011 and 2012 continue to work with Hotmail e-mail accounts by using IMAP (or, less effectively, POP) in place of DeltaSync. Gmail and other service providers still support DeltaSync, so users can still use Windows Live Mail with non-Microsoft email accounts."

"Windows Essentials 2012, including Windows Live Mail 2012, reached end of support on 10 January 2017, and is no longer available for download from Microsoft."
