Can you install updates intended for Windows 7 under Windows Vista? One of the updates would be 3075851. Reason I ask is that a web site suggests installing these updates so that Windows Update wont have long wait times. The site says the update(s) will work under Vista SP2 also? Is this correct? Check these two sites out:

Thanks.

✔ Best Answer
What I can say is that MS will not allow any update that is unsuitable for the system you try to install it on - it is immediately rejected. So if a Win 7 update is accepted then it should be fine.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you Derek! I guess creating a restore point is a good idea? Then if the Win 7 update(s) is installed, at least you can go back if there are any problems. Do you agree?

Yes indeed. I often make use of Manual System Restore points. Always best to be safe rather than sorry, although you should be OK with this query.
