Specs: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, 2 GHz / 3000 MB
I have an Acer Aspire 6930 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium on it.I just brought it to Geek Squad at Best Buy to re-install Home Premium because it kept on freezing and was working slow.A week later (today).I start it up and it has the bar with green bars going across and then when its supposed to be showing the login screen it has a black screen with a mouse cursor that i can move. If i try to get into safe mode, same thing happens.Last known good configuration doesnt work either.F.I.Y I have a windows recovery disk.

Then I guess you have no choice but to use the recovery disk. You do understand that disk will wipe the drive by putting back a factory image? Any of your data will not be recoverable.

The fact this happened so quickly after a new install would lead me to think you either have a hardware issue [which a restore will not fix] or you are not practicing safe computing and the unit is getting reinfected.

as response 1 stated "TAKE IT BACK TO THE GEEK SQUAD"
1 week is too short of a time for it to quit. Just go in, ask nice if they will fix it under warranty, if they say no, then start screaming and telling everyone in the store what a rip-off Geek Squad is...you WILL get results, I can guarantee you.
