what is file named tracing on my account

Specs: Windows Vista
Help Please-Hi-in the c: drive, under documents and account search & documents there is a file named-tracing. Properties advise none of my computer authorities-ie-user or system-have control whatsoever? Does anyone know what this is? Please help. Thankyou.

To be sure, you can reload the OS. It is the only sure way to fix malware. I can't say if this is or not.

Try to delete it in safe mode maybe, or send to recycle bin for sure.

We would need the full name of the file, its folder location to determine if you have a issue.

Is there a reason you find this file name alarming?

There is a 'tracing' folder, under Documents and settings, - I believe it holds a troubleshooting log for Messenger & possibly other programs, hence probably not being on all machines, but it is a legitimate folder, though with a silly name.
