Vista wont load after Swapped HP Motherboards

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a HP computer the motherboard died on me and i swaped out for a new one but the windows vista os doesnt seem to be working properly i tried to repair but it could not fix the issue, it says that the winload.exe is missing or corrupt, i tried my original recover disk but apperntly it only works for the HDD n motherboard that came with it, when i tried loading them it says this PC does not support this version, i wasw ondering if i bought a new vista OS and install it on there will it overwrite and fix this problem, or is it compatiblilty issues between the HDD and Motherboard

Howdy,

It is very rare that there are problems between the HDD and motherboard. Yes, I would say that If you did a clean install, it would fix your issue. Just make sure that during setup, you do not select the 'Upgrade' option, and do a custom install instead. When you get to the window asking for where to install, click on the hard drive and click 'Format'. This will wipe your drive and get rid of any bad sectors or stubborn files.

ok so your saying if i install a brand new OS it will work, i cant get onto the Log in screen either, so i will have to load the new OS as if it were a completly clean HDD with no OS on it, or like my recovery disk, boot from the disk?
Also which vista OS program should i run 32 bit or 64 it was a 32 before did upgrade the motherboardp5g41 LX2 powersorce zumax 500w memory sticks 2x 2g patriot egforcre 8600 gt video card
the OS i was gonna buy is a windows vista 64 bit restore/repair DVD will this work,ebay. Can some one find one on ebay and show me which one will work.

Unless this was an identical board from HP then it won't work due to differences in the hardware. If you replaced it with a non HP board your HP OS license is now invalid and you will need to purchase a new copy of Windows.
You will also have to install the drivers for the new board.

NO it will not, you will need a full Microsoft Windows instalation disk with license. A repair disk won't install the OS.
When you get your new OS, you will have to boot from your optical disk and run setup to install it.

Will the Origianl HDD work with the motherboard with a New windows OS, i will install the motherboard with the cd once i can get on, but i would have to install the NEW OS? and it should fix the problem?
