Vista login (PW backwards?)

Dell / Inspiron 1150

Specs: Vista Home Premium, 1.6 GHz / 3GB
I've noticed recently that when I try to login to Vista with my admin. account, when I begin to enter my password, the cursor always jumps back to the front. This is forcing me to have to enter my password backwards everytime! I thought it might be a keyboard issue but once I am logged in, the keyboard works fine. Also, if I lock the machine, and then have to enter the password to unlock, it works fine then, I can enter my password normally. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Reload OS would be my only guess.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Some years back we had an similar issue here on this site that we discussed.

I seem to remember that it was video problem, but I'm sorry I don't remember what the resolution was.

Initial screen the unlock screen may look the same on many installs but are actually different. That explains the two seeming different situations.

There are issues with screens being upside down and backwards to view. I assume it looks correct.
