I'm trying to fix up my aunt's old computer and I've run into a block that's really confusing me. It's an acer aspire running Windows Vista. I've got the recovery discs from acer and it boots up fine into the recovery centre. I then start the recovery process which seems to go fine. Then around 15% the computer blue screens and gives me error 0x0000000A. My google searches have yet to be fruitful in finding a solution. Thoughts?

Those are usually the result of a hardware failure. My best guess on that would be to test the ram modules, maybe take one out if there are two, and then swap them and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise it could be a bad hard disk or failing board. As I say usually hardware failure somewhere, and Ram is where I'd start.
