Do I understand you correctly that your machine is XP and you bought shadowrun only to find out you need Vista to play it? If this is the case, return shadowrun for full refund because you cannot get genuine Vista for free from anyplace in the world...

If I'm following your question and post topic I guess you're asking if you can load XP for a game to run seperately on vista. But that doesn't make much sense since you say the game only runs on Vista. What r u asking about XP for?

If you want to run XP on Vista

Yes, but no - it won't be Free. You have to pay for XP license.

But if you did have a copy of XP you would want to run it on MS Virtual PC 2007. That way you could run the OS and the game any time or get rid of it any time you want.

With 3 MB of RAM you should be okay but the more the better.
