USB & PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse aren't working!

February 12, 2010 at 05:32:17
Specs: Windows Vista

I have a USB mouse and a PS/2 Keyboard but I also have a PS/2 Mouse aswell but no luck of any of them working.

I've recently updated my drivers for my logitech mouse and after the initial reboot my mouse & keyboard all of a sudden don't work.

Lights are on but I can't type or move the arrow of the mouse.

I've tried opening from safe mode and still no luck of anything working.

I cannot reinstall windows because my computer came with it and there was no CD with the package.

BUT my keyboard and mouse do work before the windows boots up but once it hits the desktop page, it doesn't.

after the bios summary screen hit F8 to bring up the boot menu. Try last known and if that doesn't work choose safe mode.

I've already tried safe mode as I said in the first post and starting from a earlier point in time didn't work either.

You could try going into recovery console and expanding keyboard.sys and sermouse.sys from the vista cd though personally I would just go straight to a repair install of vista
