trouble with vista

Dell / Xps xps_430
May 9, 2009 at 19:21:49
Specs: Windows Vista
This might be hard to explain but here it goes...yesterday I was trying to update my vista home premium addition, and came across an error (not sure what type it was) but I fixed that but now my issue is that everytime I try to click on links either using internet or just trying to open macafee it will not open. I've set everything internet wise to the easiest level to allow, and as for the other I'm stumped! Help would be greatly appreciated

well first things first it might not be a virus or hacking what it
could be is a major file that was needed on the computer might
have been deleted by a mistake and now your computer is not
functioning right instead of buying a new computer you should
just buy all the programs for the computer and get some good security programs and install them on your computer that
should help you out you would be saving a lot of money by
doing so.

Hi babytigger, you might wanna try to do a 'system restore', go back to the first bold date listed before you corrected anything, that might help bring back what might have got deleted or disabled.

Lemme know if you try it and/or if it works.

Ok here is what I have, I just bought this comp in nov 08 and its a dell xps 430 which has a 64-bit and running vista svc pk 1. I had a corrupt file so I searched and searched to try and fix it. I also restored it from 2 different dates. Then I left my first message and after that I called dell. they had me reformat the hd and now I'm having new issues. I tried to log in as the admin and now I'm coming up with error 5 and since I am more use to XP it is harder to do stuff I want to this comp. For instance, just changing simple stuff, but I will figure that out. If you can help with the com prompt error 5 that would be great.
