Specs: Windows Vista, 2.0 Gig's
<I inadvertently pressed the wrong keys on my Toshiba 300_D Goofed with F-N_F11 for FN_F9, to temporarily disable the touchoad. It did disable it, but never again ever worked despite repeating this procedure. Toshiba_Canada states the correct procedure is to use the FN_F9 keys, to both disable/enable the touchpad. I have since updated the most newest and current Drivers etc, and after installation is completed, I get a message that the filal part of installation has been :Aborted", do to an unknown problem! Have I any opportunities to remedy, without sendind to the Manufacturer in the USA, for checking? All technichnicians to whom I have spoken, all want to wipe my laptop clean and reinstal an original Backup of vista etc, but I will lose all current data and files. Plus the cost estimates to do all this are prohibitive, including statements that the unit may still have to be shipped to TOSHIBA,USA, afterward if remedy doesn't occur, Sincerely, Poppyjoe./i>

I don't know if Toshiba support it but most laptops have a "tray" icon with touchpad software that allows the user to select if the touchpad is on or off (mine has it anyway).

If that does not work another place to check would be device manager to see if the device is functioning properly. Device manager can be accessed by right clicking my computer, selecting properties and then selecting device manager on the left pane of the dialogue window.
Any devices experiencing problems will have a yellow exclamation mark next to it

Hope this advice helps!
