time and date always return to default

Hello..i wanna ask if you have an idea why is that whenever i turned on my computer the time and date always return to default settings..even though i properly turned off/shutdown my computer.... any idea/reply will be greatly appreciated...thanks

The CMOS battery is dead or nearly dead....it`s time to replace it.....don`t worry, it is dirt cheap...

I know you wouldn't think the CMOS battery would be dead in a year, but it's happened before.

One thing is certain; it's a quick, cheap repair and needs to be the first thing done in this situation.
