HI,

It ideally means some registry files of your machine are missing or its corrupt. However you can fix it by using the original Operating system disk. Insert it into the CD/DVD drive and restart. When it asks for repair, press "R" install repair (never go for "Recovery console"). Allo your machine to complete the process. After the repair installation, your machine will start normally.
