speech clarity in real time?

Specs: Windows Vista
Therapist says I need to listen to my own speech so that I can make it clearer. Tape recordings dont help and frustrate me. I would like to listen in real time so that when I practice and I can change it. Is there a way to do that on a budget?

Your saying you want to hear your speech as your speaking? A stereo and a mic.

The trouble with real time is that you can't really be speaking and listening to yourself properly at the same time. Maybe some sort of short delayed arrangement would be best.

A microphone and headphones to avoid feedback. Many people listening to their own voice get confused. As Derek noted a delay is best.
