sfc will not run

December 6, 2011 at 07:00:43
Specs: Windows Vista, AMD 64x2/ 256
vista sfc will not run from recovery cd and I keep getting a windows protection error when I try. I can not access safe mode since that results in a blue screen stateing that the DLL libarary failed to start. Any attempts to fix this HAS to be done is DOS since I do not have access to windows GUI. I have run a virus scan and that has come back clean. The last update was Vista SP1 and system restore does not work from the repair cd.

Have you tried safe mode with command line only?

You could do a chkdisk /r from the RC or safe mode CLO. But back up the system first.

You could do a SFC or a system restore as well.

Borrow a dvd and try the repair tools.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
