I have a laptop that was donated to our school and it has an "unknown" cmos password. Does anyone know how to reset/remove the existing password. This laptop has a finger swipe too that is turned off. I cannot boot from USB or CD/DVD either because of this "unknown" password.
do yourself a favor and ask the people who got the donation notify the rightful owner to get the password. There is NO software to my knowledge that will clear that password....it is an anti-theft protection....you would be wasting your money
Thanks for all your advice. I did end up finding the answer at: http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-bios-... in the "hash code" section. Once I entered the code it gave me the password. Seems the previous user did not set the password; Acer did.
