Specs: Windows Vista Home 32 bit, AMD Turion 64 X2
I replaced my laptop's RAM as it was really slow. It was working right after I replaced the RAM but after shutting it down I couldn't start it up anymore. I could here the fan and the light of the optical drive is flashing but there are no other activity and the screen is just dead.

Sounds like the RAM is bad, incompatible with your system, inserted improperly, or you disturbed something else during the installation.

thanks for responding. I was able to use the laptop after putting in the RAM. So how would it be possible for it to work and then after shutdown will not start up?

Does it work when you put the old ram back in?
Perhaps something else is wrong besides the ram.
