Removing Windows Search for Traditional

Specs: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate, 2.401 GHz / 2045 MB
On Vista, I can disable Windows Search in the services, sure, but I can not get the regular, actually working search, which they now call Search Companion on XP, when hitting CRTL-F. I have done several internet searches, but kind of stuck on this. Disabling that service, or even indexing, will yield nothing to show up when hitting CTRL-F. I have disabled Google Search (from the sidebar I use) but still nothing. Can regular search be used on Vista using CTRL-F?
Any solution to this?
Thank you. God bless.

I reply as fast as I can but could be hours or months.

Windows Vista is a very unpopular program amongst IT People because its not very good... Windows XP or Windows 7 would be the better operating systems to use
