re installing itunes after failure to start

January 29, 2014 at 05:00:31
Specs: Windows Vista
I tried to start iTunes this morning and was confronted with "Application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. re-installing may fix this problem"

I downloaded and installed iTunes from the Apple site and got the message "I tunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install. Error 7 (windows error 126). I have tried re-installing 3 times and get the same result. My operating System is Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

Can you help please?
